A little tid-bit for you guys, you can disagree all you like...that's the beauty of opinions. I'm not here to argue, just here to give you a piece of my thought process.
Religious people, think about the GOLDEN RULE:
Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You

No on 8. Period.

It may be against your views and that's fine, but it is NOT okay to be discriminatory. Legal marriage does not occur in a church, it is issued by the GOVERNMENT on a piece of paper that costs over 90 bucks which both parties must sign. Religion deemed this "civil union" marriage and the Government coined the term to keep the public happy at the time. The ceremony called marriage can occur in a Church or the courthouse(or even Vegas).

In my opinion, the Government should take the word "marriage" out and call it a Civil Union. You can label it however you please but the Government should consider it ONE THING; A UNION BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LOVE AND CHERISH EACH OTHER UNTIL DEATH DO THEM APART(though who does that apply to nowadays? Very few.)

Let's not fall back into the shoes of our ancestors and discriminate just because it is different. Whether it be skin color, religion, or sexual preference. Homosexual couples will not destroy the world. It is not going to make every kid think that they should be the same way. It has existed forever. It is nothing new.

A few positives to allowing this union will be the stimulation in the economy and the possibility of orphans becoming a part of families. The wedding planners, party planners, clothing stores, caterers...ect...ect... will obtain more revenue from the couples who want to celebrate their coming together as one. This influx would help California out of the rut it fell into. Also, Homosexual couples might want kids. There are orphans who would benefit from somebody just being a true parent to them. I would think that most Homosexual couples would be understanding and willing to work with them considering how both are mostly misunderstood. They would also spend money on their kids, further improving the economy.

I am not saying that all homosexual couples are going to be righteous, that they are not going to have falling outs, that they are not going to divorce left and right. They are probably going to behave in the same aspects as any couple does including divorcing or even just doing it for money. Don't forget that there are equally men and women who abuse the right to marriage. I'm sure you all know that one person who is married for the 4th time...

As said by Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge, "Love? Above all things I believe in love! Love is like oxygen. Love is a many-splendored thing, love lifts us up where we belong, all you need is love!" How would you feel if the Government decided "You can't become united and recognized by the government as a couple, you're a man and a woman. Doesn't matter if you love each other, that's what the law says..."
